For over a decade, Jake has helped Wixted & Company and its clients use communication to build understanding, create trust and drive action. As President, Jake oversees day-to-day operations at the agency, including business development, new client onboarding and strategic planning. Working with teams, he also manages clients, timelines, and workflows in line with Wixted’s proven processes. For clients, Jake provides strategic communications counsel and long-range plans, as well as managing issues and crisis communications.   

Jake brings a background in communication strategy, plan development and marketing for diverse clients that include billion-dollar corporations and nationally recognized nonprofits. He particularly enjoys writing and using communication to solve problems and manage opportunities.

Jake holds a master's degree in public communication from American University, and bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. He was named to the 2025 Des Moines Business Record 40 under 40 class and serves on the board of the PRSA Iowa Chapter. He is also a member of the Iowa Arts Council, appointed by the Governor, and previously served on the advisory board of the Central Iowa Salvation Army.
